Fine art prints and framing questions
How long will it take for my order to arrive?
Your prints are made fresh as can be so that you get the lowest price for a brand spanking new framed print or canvas. The process will take betweek 2 to 4 weeks depending on manufacturing capacity but the wait will be worth it.
Can I get a high resolution preview of the photo I want to buy?
Sure thing! It can be hard to see the finer details of the photos from the website previews - the photos can only be truly appreciated at large sizes on screen or when printed. Contact me with the photo name and I can send you a larger digital copy to check out.
Why do you only have frames in black, white and lime wash?
I have selected the frames carefully to give a modern fine art appearance without detracting from the beauty of the photo. The frame is a complementary component and shouldn't overpower the photo.
Do you offer other framing and matting options beside the ones listed in the store?
If you have particular requirements, contact me and we can work something out.
What paper is used for printing?
Fine art museum archival grade 100% cotton rag paper. This is top shelf stuff designed to last 75+ years.
What ink is used for printing?
Epson Ultrachrome Inks. This is top shelf stuff designed for brilliant fade-free colours for 75+ years.
Do you licence your photos?
Yes - if it's for business use. Please see the image licensing page for more details. I will not sell you digital images if you intend to print them for personal use e.g. printing photos to hang up at home.
Do you do commercial work?
Sometimes! I've done products, pets and food photos to name a few. Contact me with your requirements and we'll go from there.
Do you do commissioned works?
Sometimes! If there is a particular beach, scene, building or anything other photo you have in mind, contact me and we'll go from there.
What camera equipment do you use?
I use a professional grade Canon 5D MK III. I have more lenses and accessories than I dare list, but my most commonly used gear consists of:
- Canon 40mm f/2.8
- Canon 100mm f/2.8 macro
- Canon 70-200mm f2.8 L
- Sigma 24mm f/2.8 super wide II
- Tokina 17mm f/3.5 RMC II
- Lee soft and hard neutral density filters
- Lee circular polarising filter
What program do you use to edit your photos?
I primarliy used Adobe Lightroom 4.0 to manage and convert my images from RAW to JPG/TIFF. The final sharpneing and resizing is done in Adobe Photoshop.
