About my photography
I've been a serious hobbyist photographer since 2005 when I bought my first digital camera. From there it has been an ongoing love, a journey of continual learning and exploration.
Every photo I take is meticulously composed and timed with the intention of provoking thoughts and emotions from the viewer. It's easy to take a photo, but much harder to capture meaning. My goal with every photo is to showcase the true beauty of the Northern Territory landscape through the use of colour, shape and timing and then printed and mated to only the finest materials so you get the most out of your investment.
Whilst all my photos are processed on the computer after capture, all of what you see is completely natural and real. The photos available on my site is the result of patience, timing and dedication. I have very high standards and as a result I only keep my best shots – I will often spend over an hour at one location and walk away with just one photo, sometimes none at all. I'll shoot the same scene multiple times until my envisioned piece is achieved. Whatever it takes, I want to present the best Darwin and the top end has to offer.
Born and raised in the Territory, I've lived in Alice Springs, Katherine, Palmerston, Humpty Doo and finally Darwin. I guess you could call me a true blue Aussie-Asian who just loves to point a camera at everything.
I'm a website designer by trade and photography is my favourite past time. I also run food blog Darwin Foodies and because being a foodie takes its toll on the body I try to keep in good shape by going to the gym a few times a week.
